Invest in the tools of your Safety Toolbox
As the owner and operator of She-Bang! Handgun Training, I teach many women many things about safety. This has become my passion and I want to share safety advice and techniques with anyone who is willing to invest their time into their safety.
The 3 BEST tools you will ever need, you got for free when you were born.
1. Your brain.
2. Your voice.
3. Your intuition.
Learn how to use the tools properly and you will be the master of the trade.
These are the tools you should begin to learn how to master. Then you can develop more skills (tools for your toolbox), that will help you in different situations. Learn to develop the mental skills first, then physical skills, followed by the use of physical tools. A well-stocked toolbox will include situational awareness, a keen instinct, and the right way of thinking no matter where you go. The physical skills will help you if your attention span fails you. Maybe you got lazy and didn’t pay attention, or maybe you did everything right but you were ambushed. That is where physical skills will help you out of a dangerous situation. Physical skills are the ability to create pain and distance so you can get to an escape safely. Physical tools would include weapons such as non-lethal, lethal and improvised.
With training, you will know which tool is right for which job. If you decide to carry ANYTHING as a weapon, you must have the will to use it, the knowledge to use it and it must be in working order to serve you well. This is my area of expertise and I would love to help you build your toolbox. Check out our downloadable What every woman needs to know to be safety savvy lesson here.
I challenge you to invest at least one hour of your life in your safety! Get some skills or knowledge beyond what you have now. You will not be able to protect your children or your family if you cannot protect yourself. YOU are the first responder in any personal attack, so act like it by knowing what to do and doing it with confidence. Use the tools you have now and gain some new ones. You’ll be glad you did.
